Blaco Hill Cottages are situated on a working farm in Mattersey, South Yorkshire.

On the farm itself are three lakes, which have a wide variety of bird life
both native and visiting species.

Adjacent to the farm is the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trusts Idle River nature reserve, which is a site of Special Scientific Interest and has a diverse variety of bird & wildlife.
